Rabbit Netting
It is estimated that rabbits cost the British agricultural industry £100million a year through crop damage. A 30mm mesh size is used in all of our rabbit mesh products as it has been proven to be the most effective size for excluding rabbits.
The minimum height for a rabbit fence is 900mm from the ground, with a 150mm turn out to prevent burrowing. In this case, a 1050mm overall height rabbit mesh would be selected.
Best practice is to bury 300mm into the ground. This requires the selection of the 1200mm height mesh.
We stock 1050 x 30 x 1.0mm This premium medium gauge rabbit netting 1.05m high. Intergraded salvage wires provide additional strength. Can be buried 150mm to help prevent burrowing. Other heights and gauges are available to order.
Ground Conditions
Zinc and zinc aluminium coated agricultural fence service life can be affected significantly when exposed to extremely acidic or saline environments and this factor should be considered when designing your fence installation. For typical service life to be achieved it is recommended that the product must be installed in an atmosphere with corrosively class C1, C2 or C3 (very low/low/medium) in accordance with ISO 9223 and must not come into contact with substances that will accelerate corrosion, including but not limited to fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides, salt water and soils of pH lower than 5.5. Particularly at sites with peaty and wet ground conditions it is recommended that you have the soil pH tested prior to designing your installation.
